Zoom Exam Guide

Both practical and written examinations are conducted through Zoom from your workplace or grooming school. We can offer face to face exams, and this can be priced on request.

Zoom exams have a maximum of 6 people per day. This allows time the examiner to spend time with each candidate. Dates can be booked individually and are not limited to specific days, get in touch with Sue.

How it works

You may have already experienced a Zoom video meeting, but for people who have not this is how it works.

• Our meetings begin between 9:30am and 10:30am, as indicated in your booking confirmation.
   
• Certifications will be conducted via your iPhone/Android or other camera at your premises.
   
• You will receive instructions and a link on how to join a Zoom meeting.
   
• Before the day of the certification we will hold a brief Zoom meeting with each person to establish certain criteria, such as internet connection, lighting, position of camera etc. This takes just a few minutes but is essential.
   
• Any of the Practical and Written Certifications will be able to be taken, subject to prior arrangement with ICMG.
   
• The Practical Certifications will be the same as if we were present in your Salon, we will be watching, assessing, and talking to you via video link instead.
   
• The Written Certifications will be available to complete on-line via a PC, Laptop or Tablet. Again, we will ask you to position your camera (iPhone Android etc), at the side of you, showing you sitting in front of your device.
   
• On completion of the Practical Certification we will assess your groom and ask questions as we are doing it. In most cases you will be given your result on the day.
   
• After completing the Written Certification online, your score as a percentage will appear on the screen. The examiner will discuss your percentage result with you.
   
• Your qualification fees cover the cost of one Zoom session; additional Zoom meetings will require extra payment, for example retakes.
   
• You will receive an email afterwards containing your results and practical feedback. Please do not worry about the day as we can take our time and work with you.
